About Wright’s Custom Framing

Hi! We’re Dennis and Suzie Wright.

In 1992, God brought us up to Crescent City, CA to open and operate a frame shop. We opened our first location inside a craft store known as the Ben Franklin Building. We opened in a 10′ x 10′ room, and started framing using only an old mat cutter and hand-cut glass and mats. Six years later we bought the frame shop and began adding new equipment to expand our growing business. We added a new mat cutter and a wall cutter for glass, plexiglass, and mats. Then we added a large heat press, V-Nailer, saws, and a bit later a computerized mat cutter and large format printer.

In 2009, we opened our 2nd location in Brookings, Oregon, in a 1,000 sq. ft. building. We had a 40″ x 60″ Fletcher hand mat cutter, a wall cutter, 25 ft. of readymade frames, and 16 ft. of art supplies.

In 2011, we had grown out of our Brookings location and moved into a 7,000 sq. ft. building where we could not only service our customers more efficiently with their framing needs, but we also added a larger section of approximately 40 ft. of readymade frames, 48 ft. of art supplies (and growing), and a computerized mat cutter. We were able to dedicate 1,000 sq. ft. for our classes and workshops. We love the 2,000 sq. ft. we were able to use for a gallery where we display and sell the work of our local artists. It’s more like a mall for artists.
